Quiet the Mind & the Soul will Speak

The past couple of weeks I’ve been feeling overwhelmed. I felt like I was taking on too much and not making space for me to just breathe. I felt like I was forcing my way through my day instead of flowing. Ever get that feeling? ⠀ .⠀ But instead of listening to this feeling I just kept ignoring it. I kept pushing through. I kept on keeping on. Until my voice starts to give. My throat starts to hurt. So much so that it was painful to talk.⠀ .⠀ If you know me then you know talking is something I do on the daily. I’m always connecting, working or socializing with someone wherever I go! 😝 So when this started to happen I finally decided it was time to stop ignoring and pay attention to the signs I was getting.⠀ .⠀ I slowed my pace. I took time each day in the quiet. To clear my head. To breathe. To ground. To relax. To just CHILL and be. I got a little taste and the next day I wanted more. And the day after a little more. I didn’t realize how much my body and soul was craving this quiet. This space for me.⠀ .⠀ After a few days of making space in my day for it - my throat cleared up, my voice was back. What was most amazing is all of a sudden I went from “efforting” my way through my day to “flowing”. I went from forcing biz ideas to feeling inspired. I went from staring at a computer screen with creative block to not typing fast enough as the ideas poured in. ⠀ .⠀ Whether it’s five minutes on your commute, ten minutes while you cook or one hour in a yoga class, I encourage you to carve out quiet in your day every day. Quiet the mind, even for just a little and see what manifests for you ✨
